Clay Chamberlain represents clients on a broad range of transactional matters in the energy and healthcare sectors, including advising private equity fund sponsors on mergers and acquisitions and structuring investments and corporate governance in their portfolio companies. In addition to his work for the firm, Clay serves as General Counsel for a Texas-based private equity firm and has primary responsibility over legal matters related to the private equity firm and its portfolio companies, including legal matters related to its investments in the energy and healthcare sectors, employment matters, debt and equity financings, acquisitions & divestitures, and new legal developments in renewable energy arena. Clay has also served as General Counsel to private-equity backed E&P companies, principally focused on debt & equity financings and acquisitions & divestitures. Prior to his general counsel and transactional practice, Clay began his legal career as a business litigator serving a variety of business clients in the energy and healthcare sectors. He continues to assist the firm’s litigators in connection with the technical aspects of finance, oil and gas, and healthcare litigation. Clay received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Grinnell College and his Juris Doctorate from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. Clay is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and Texas.
